This webinar will equip Student Health Center staff with the appropriate resources to point students who wish to quit tobacco in the direction of tobacco treatment that is appropriate for them. The training will also include a look at the latest literature on what works to help Young Adults quit tobacco, as well as a review of the latest apps and texting programs that have proven effective with Young Adult populations.

Join us for a two-day workshop in Sacramento for California Community Colleges (CCC) that either are, or wish to be, tobacco-free.  Whether you are working on adopting a tobacco-free policy, or you already have one, the workshop will cover all aspects of policy adoption, implementation, and enforcement with breakout sessions that are relevant no matter where you are in the policy process. 

Sunday, May 6th will be dedicated to student engagement and policy advocacy.  CYAN is pleased to offer travel scholarships to California Community College students that wish to attend, and will be offering limited travel scholarships for staff that would otherwise be unable to attend.  

Monday, May 7th will be focused on the nitty-gritty details and timelines of the policy adoption process, from getting the policy through the shared governance process, to developing a plan for policy implementation and enforcement.

Earth Day is on Sunday, April 22nd and campuses across the state will be hosting events during the week of April 23-27 to raise awareness about the devastating consequences to our environment of tobacco growing, curing, and use.  CYAN offers free support and resources to any college campus that would like to host an event and raise awareness on their campus.  By registering with CYAN for Earth Day, campuses will receive: free tote bags to give to students on campus, free Event Turnkey Kit with event ideas and forms, free educational materials (posters) to post around campus, and free cigarette butt pickup event protocols and forms.
